Master Sergeant Daniel P. McGarrah

 Master Sergeant Daniel P. McGarrah serves as the Senior Enlisted Medical Advisor and 1st 68W for United States Special Operations Command CENTRAL, MacDill Air Force Base, Florida. He develops theater-level special operations medical plans for over 15 countries in the CENTCOM AOR with a team of 7 personnel; provides guidance for special operations medical operations and logistics to USCENTCOM/USSOCOM; provides data analysis, area studies and evacuation plans in support of USCENTCOM objectives; provides medical support to Special Operations Command Central; coordinates preparation and execution of joint medical exercises in support of real world mission and strategic objectives; coordinates medical support, RFIs, RFFs and combat mission requirements.

MSG McGarrah was born on 23 April 1980 at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He graduated from Brandon High School in 1997. He enlisted in the Army in August 2002 as a Combat Medic (68W) and served overseas with 3 tours in CENTCOM and 3 tours in SOUTHCOM AORs. He joined Special Operations in 2006 becoming a Special Operations Combat Medic (SOCM) and continuing in the community over the last 16 years. He was selected as the 3rd 68W to attend the Joint Special Operations Master of the Arts Program through National Defense University in Washington D.C. in 2017 attaining his master’s degree in Strategic Security Studies. MSG McGarrah volunteers his free time with the Boy Scouts of America as an Assistant Scoutmaster. He is currently enrolled in the Doctorate in Public Health program at Walden University. He is married to Jennifer McGarrah and has a blended family with six children Mikaylah, Kariss, Hannah, Aiden, Jacob, and Eli.
