SHANNON A. JACKSON, LIEUTENANT COMMANDER, US NAVY

Lieutenant Commander Shannon A. Jackson is a native of Live Oak, Florida. Shortly following graduation from high school, she enlisted in the Navy. She served in various overseas and stateside assignments including Naval Hospital Keflavik, the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, National Naval Medical Center San Diego, Naval Consolidated Brig Miramar and the USS Blue Ridge. She concluded her enlisted years when commissioned as a Naval Officer in the Navy Medical Service Corps in 2011.

LCDR Jackson’s commissioned years started at US Naval Hospital Yokosuka, Japan where she served as the Division Officer of Human Resources. In 2012, she became the department head of the Operations Management Department. In 2014, LCDR Jackson transferred to 2D Dental Battalion, Camp Lejuene, NC and served as the Operations Officer and Officer in Charge, Health Services Support Detachment, Combat Logistics Regiment-25.

 She then attended a Global Health Fellowship at the Defense Security Cooperation Agency with a follow-on tour as Director of Mission Operations at the Defense Institute for Medical Operations. In 2019, LCDR Jackson performed as the first ever Health Security Cooperation Officer at Naval Central Command and served as the Department of Defense liaison on the Prime Minister of Bahrain’s COVID-19 Task Force. She is currently the Deputy Director N7 at the Navy Medical Training Support Center in San Antonio, TX.

LCDR Jackson earned a BA in History from the University of Maryland University College and a Masters of Business Administration, Health Care Administration from National University.

LCDR Jackson’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (1), Joint Service Commendation Medal (2), the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3), the Joint Service Achievement Medal (3) the Army Commendation Medal (1), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5) and the Army Achievement Medal (1).
