Dear Colleagues,
Welcome to Riyadh, home of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Military Medical Services,
Ministry of Defense, and our Multinational Medical Response Training.
This year’s theme is “Emergency Disaster Management, Humanitarian Assistance and
Relief Operations.” This event comes from a combined interest in strengthening relationships
among senior medical leaders from the USCENTCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR). These
relationships are critical to enhancing medical capabilities that support national and regional
stability.
The goal of this training is to build the foundation of a collaborative framework that
supports humanitarian assistance and disaster response operations. The outcome will promote
multilateral cooperation and enhance capability-sharing opportunities. Additionally, it promotes
regional stability through medical collaboration, enhances emergency response operations, and
addresses the challenging mechanism of meeting the basic needs of the populace in the event of
catastrophic events and humanitarian relief operations.
This exchange consists of a series of expert presentations, workshops, tabletop, and field
training exercises. The main objective is to create a regional medical knowledge exchange and
training platform that fosters partner capacity building and bolsters medical response capability
development. Shared best practices will also mitigate human suffering in the events of disasters,
disease outbreaks, and mass casualty events.
Again, Welcome to Riyadh!
Sincerely, P
